The Town of Plattsburgh is continuing to provide regular updates of the progress in their work to bring Whispering Maples Mausoleum out of receivership..  At last night’s board meeting.. Town Supervisor Michhael Cashman reminded everyone that they’re regularly updating the towns website on that progress.. The Town of Plattsburgh is also extending authority to their Highway Superintendent Jim Woods to continue to share services and equipment with neighboring municipalities..  Councilman Tom Wood added that the town in just the last month has worked with Chazy, Schuyler Falls and Dannemora and the arrangements seem to be working well.. According to Supervisor Cashman.. The previous 5 year agreements are due to expire in October..  These new agreements will also give the Highway Superintendent the autonomy to make up or down decisions on sharing services without specific approval from the board and then also the Authority to engage in this way with other superintendents..…

Adirondack Council Joins “BeWildNY” Coalition

Acclaimed actress and environmentalist Sigourney Weaver is the narrator of a new video advertising campaign urging New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo to protect roughly 30,000 acres of new public land as motor-free wilderness. “New York has an extraordinary opportunity to expand Adirondack Wilderness to rival the most famous conservation landmarks in the world,” Weaver notes in the opening seconds of the video.
