Downtown Rising on Fridays in Trinity Park this summer has proven to be quite a successful event for Downtown Plattsburgh..  At the most recent event Friday, mayoral candidate Colin Read spoke about it’s success saying “Each event visitor spends over $100 every time they come to our city..”  We listened in on the presentation.. Read spoke just outside the Downtown Rising Tent in Trinity Park on Friday. He was joined by one of the organizers, Simon Conroy, who is also a candidate for the Area 4 seat in the Clinton County Legislature.The Downtown Rising event is held every Friday from 4 to 7pm in June, July and August. At Beekmantown Central Schools there are Four Cornerstones of a new Capital project under development. One of those Cornerstones includes Plans for re-working the main parking lot at the Main Campus, And additional plans for better bus and traffic flow at the Cumberland Head Elementary School. Garrett Hamlin is the Director of Architecture at Tetra Tech which has been consulting with the Beekmantown School Board to develop plans to maximize the value of state aid and incorporate all of those efforts into the $18 Million Dollar Capital Project. He says the  plan is still in the works.. “We’ll keep coming up with new ideas and then put each idea to the test.
