The Village of Saranac Lake is in the final phase of re-defining building construction and zoning codes and one of the members of the Village Board, Village Trustee Paul VanCott has been actively involved in the re-write for the last several years…  He sits down with us and gives a look at what the work entails…

The new re-write of the code book will simplify our understanding of the overall vision for the village..    The Village Board has been through a few work-sessions over the month of November and will most likely take up contemplation of their final draft before year’s end..

Members of the Tupper Lake Adult Center and Tupper Lake Students gathered together on Wednesday for a luncheon designed to bring them both together to talk about some of the issues kids run into.. not only in a school setting, but also in the community.. and to look at what may have changed over the years..   We’ll start with the kids..  The inter-generational event begins with a presentation by the kids about their group called Friends of Rachel….

Rachael’s Challenge is a national non profit organization dedicated to creating safe connected school environments.. the organization motivates and equips students to start and sustain a chain reaction of kindness and compassion that transforms schools in their communities..
