In Today’s K&J Show, we’re taking a tour of Downtown Saranac Lake.. This is a different kind of tour, however.. Today we’re looking at the possibilities for buildings in downtown Saranac Lake with Village Trustee Paul Van Cott. We began our conversation just outside of the Harietstown Town Hall and made our way up Main Street and then left onto Broadway while we discussed the importance of working together with local property owners to help re-vitalize Saranac Lake using a Main Street grant application as part of the consolidated funding process in New York State. With the help of the Downtown Advisory Board and the Local Development Corporation, VanCott is leading a charge to re-vitalize the downtown. During our tour, we looked at some of the buildings and building owners who have agreed to participate should the state agree to pony up the incentive money to get them started.
