The Battle of Plattsburgh Commemoration (BOPC) Admission Button is available for $15 and is available at North Country Food Co-op, Adirondack Coast Visitors Bureau, Cornerstone Bookshop, Plattsburgh City Marina, Kent-Delord House Museum, Battle of Plattsburgh Association, NBT Bank, Champlain Wine Company, Cook & Gardener, Aubuchon Hardware-Skyway Plaza, and Studley Printing.
The design of this year’s Commemoration Button is by Emily Ferdinandi of Mooers Elementary School. Ms. Ferdinandi submitted a poster as part of the BOPC Poster Contest, which invites area 4th graders to design a Battle of Plattsburgh poster. The Clinton County Historical Association, as a continuation of its annual tours of historical venues and cemeteries in Clinton County, is pleased to announce an August 16th tour of Maple Hill Cemetery in Rouses Point and the former Frog Farm in Champlain. Today we’re going to look ahead just a few weeks to the Battle of Plattsburgh Commemoration… and this year, Mayor Calnon has tasked the City’s new Events Coordinator Sandra Geddes with helping to coordinate the logistics and the planning of all of the weekend’s activities… We sat down just outside of her office which for the summer is located on the waterfront at the City’s new Marina…. She is focused for the next few weeks on making sure the Battle of Plattsburgh Commemoration goes off without a hitch. Brant Lake Association, the Town of Horicon and the Adirondack Council will hold an Adirondack Park Invasive Species Summit & Award Presentation on Friday, August 14 from 11a.m. to 2 p.m. at Horicon Town Hall.
The purpose of the summit is to recognize and celebrate progress combating invasive species at Brant Lake and at surrounding lakes. Participants will discuss updated strategies and priorities, including ways the state can continue and improve its assistance to local communities and lake associations.
Town of Horicon Supervisor Matt Simpson and Brant Lake Association President Wayne Butler will welcome participants, followed by Brant Lake Association Board Member Douglas Schultz and Adirondack Council Executive Director William C. In Today’s K&J Show, we’re taking a tour of Downtown Saranac Lake.. This is a different kind of tour, however.. Today we’re looking at the possibilities for buildings in downtown Saranac Lake with Village Trustee Paul Van Cott. We began our conversation just outside of the Harietstown Town Hall and made our way up Main Street and then left onto Broadway while we discussed the importance of working together with local property owners to help re-vitalize Saranac Lake using a Main Street grant application as part of the consolidated funding process in New York State. With the help of the Downtown Advisory Board and the Local Development Corporation, VanCott is leading a charge to re-vitalize the downtown. During our tour, we looked at some of the buildings and building owners who have agreed to participate should the state agree to pony up the incentive money to get them started. he Men’s Past, Ultra Grand and Super Grand Masters division champions were crowned Friday at the 26th annual Lake Placid Summit Lacrosse Classic in the Tri-Lakes region of the Adirondack Mountains.
In the first year of the championship-format Past Masters Division, a bracket for men 60 years of age and older, Cloud Splitter downed the Ultra Legends 12-2 to win the title. Lee Murphy put up four goals in the win.

The Battle of Plattsburgh Commemoration Committee is seeking volunteers for numerous events and activities throughout the Commemoration Weekend, which is September 10-13.

The Lake Placid Summit Lacrosse Classic has been happening every summer in Lake Placid for 26 years… And for a perspective on the tournament and it’s impact on the region, we caught up with it’s founder George Leveille at the North Elba Lacrosse Fields.. He says they started in 1990 with 7 teams and back then just 14 games.. We spoke with him at the North Elba Lacrosse Fields on Tuesday afternoon.. A series of exciting matchups is on deck for Championship Wednesday at the 26th annual Lake Placid Summit Lacrosse Classic in the picturesque Tri-Lakes Region of the Adirondack Mountains.
In the Boys 2016-2017 Gold Division, a huge game is on tap as the FCA National HS team and SweetLax 2016 National squad are set to meet in one of the two semifinals. Albeit different rosters, it’s a rematch of last year’s championship, which the Baltimore-based FCA won 12-8. This year’s rosters are equally stacked with Division I-destined players from across the country.
Both FCA and SweetLax, a program based in Rochester, N.Y., are 4-0 heading into Wednesday’s semifinals at the North Elba Athletic Fields. SweetLax has outscored its competition by 14 goals, while FCA owns an impressive 25-goal differential. (… Click above for more )

The Old Boys play today through the day.. with the last game at 4pm and on Saturday at least 20 games on all of the fields with Mens and Women’s Club plus the Mens Social teams and a youth Rugby Clinic is scheduled as well… Then on Sunday..
