According to the website Best Colleges dot com… SUNY Plattsburgh ranks among America’s best small town colleges..   Part of it’s mystique… The website cites the college’s surroundings, affordability, recreational facilities and more.

Bryan Hartman is the VP for Student Affairs at SUNY Plattsburgh.. He tells us in an email that they have a unique location.. and being in the Champlain Valley provides students, faculty and staff access to exciting world-class opportunities…  And he continues by saying It’s the varied experiences at our finger tips, within an hour’s drive, that can satisfy anyone’s sense of adventure.  Hartman added that the variety in and around campus, from urban Montreal and downtown Plattsburgh to the Adirondack wilderness and Lake Placid’s Olympic venues, attract students with a wide range of interests.

The report considered published data on the college’s acceptance, retention, graduation and enrollment rates, as well as location and benefits of the location..   “Placement on this list,” Hartman says, “Is a great recognition of the efforts that SUNY Plattsburgh student organizations, teaching faculty and the college in general puts toward fully engaging our environment.”
