Amazon Prime Video has officially greenlit the Carrie TV adaptation from executive producer Mike Flanagan, with eight episodes ordered and production scheduled to start in Vancouver this summer. The series will reimagine Stephen King's debut novel, focusing on misfit high-schooler Carrie White navigating public school, bullying, and the discovery of her telekinetic abilities. Flanagan, known for his work on shows like The Haunting of Hill House and films like Doctor Sleep, will serve as showrunner, writer, and director for select episodes. Summer H. Howell is in negotiations for the title role, while Siena Agudong has been cast as Sue Snell. (Variety)
