High school English teacher Joe Cote's Reddit short story, "I pretended to be a missing girl so I could rob her family," is being developed into a feature film with Sydney Sweeney set to star and produce. Written by Eric Roth (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, A Star Is Born), the story follows a young woman who shows up on a family's doorstep and pretends to be their missing daughter who disappeared 10 years prior at the age of 18. But she only needs to get away with it for one night -- just long enough to steal some valuables and get away. The project caught Hollywood's attention after Cote landed an agent, and Sweeney's involvement accelerated its progress. (THR)
