106.3 NBZ-FM is proud to announce the appointment of John Shearer as News Director, effective March 31, 2025. With a distinguished track record of leadership and industry expertise, John will be a key asset in 106.3 NBZ-FM's mission to offer even more to the community we are proud to serve.
John brings a wealth of experience in both TV and Radio, having previously held senior positions at a multitude of radio and TV stations. In this new role, he will be responsible for leading 106.3 NBZ-FM's newly created News Department, leveraging his deep expertise to strengthen the link between this radio station and the community, providing relevant local news to Plattsburgh, The North Country, and The Champlain Valley.

Before returning to 106.3 NBZ-FM, John Shearer's talents have graced the airwaves both nationally and locally, most recently at the now defunct WIRY, which closed down recently after 75 years of operation. His extensive experience in the broadcast industry makes John the ideal leader for 106.3 NBZ-FM as he brings his expertise to our News Department, enhancing our multi-platform delivery method of local news.
Starting today, John Shearer will anchor the 106.3 NBZ-FM Newscasts at 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00 every morning, he will also bring his ever popular "Week In Review" program to the NBZ-FM programming lineup, as well as at WNBZ.com and our recently launched mobile app.
