First Alert Weather Day Issued for Saturday Due to Snow, Ice, and Hazardous Travel Conditions

Snow, sleet, and freezing rain expected to impact the region from late Friday night through Sunday morning.

 

The WCAX Weather Team has declared Saturday a First Alert Weather Day due to the potential for hazardous winter conditions, including snow, ice, and freezing rain. Wintry weather is expected to begin late Friday night and continue through the weekend, with the most significant impacts occurring from late Friday through Sunday morning. Temperatures will rise by Sunday afternoon, transitioning the precipitation to rain, which will continue into Monday. Northern Clinton County could see between 4 to 8 inches of snow, with 1 to 3 inches forecasted in in Southern Clinton County.   Drivers are urged to prepare for dangerous road conditions and potential delays through the weekend. By Sunday afternoon, most of the region will transition to rain, with the possibility of a brief mix as precipitation tapers off late Monday.
