A request has been made to designate Plattsburgh International Airport as a port of entry.
In a letter to Homeland Security Secretary, Kristi Noem, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik asked that the Plattsburgh International Airport become a U.S. Port of Entry. Stefanik wrote that even though PBG qualifies as a port of entry under CBP's criteria, it's still designated as a user-fee airport. According to the Congresswoman, this is costing the airport an estimated $800,000 a year due to out of pocket payments for U.S. Customs and Border Protection services.
