Deep Sea Robot Explores Earth’s Deepest Trench

Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 8:00 PM

Scientists at China's Beihang University have sent a small robot into the Mariana Trench. The robot was found to be capable of swimming, crawling, and gliding 34,776 below the water's surface. Small robots like these can help scientists explore our planet's deep oceans safely, as they are operated remotely, and without disturbing fragile ecosystems. 70% of the planet is covered by oceans.
