Director Carl Erik Rinsch faces up to 90 years in prison for allegedly defrauding Netflix out of 11 million dollars. Back in 2018 and 2019, Netflix reportedly paid Rinsch $44 million for a show called "Conquest" about artificial humans. In March 2020, Rinsch was given another $11 million due to his claims that the initial amount was "not sufficient," the indictment says. However, prosecutors claim that Rinsch used that additional money to speculate on cryptocurrency, buy luxury cars like Rolls-Royces, and two mattresses. Rinsch faces charges of wire fraud and money laundering, among other charges. (newser)
