Mexico's president announced that the town of Coalcoman would be investigated after a sign appeared at a Christmas fair thanking cartel leader Nemesio Oseguera, also known as "El Mencho", for children's gifts. "The children of Coalcoman thank Mr. Nemesio Oseguera and his sons, 2, 3, and Delta 1, for their noble gesture," the sign read. It's currently unclear who was involved in or approved of the message. "A criminal group cannot hold a public event to promote the acceptance of violence," President Claudia Sheinbaum said. Mexican cartels have previously handed out gifts and food during the holiday season to try to bolster public support. (AP News)
