New York man Chen Jinping has pleaded guilty to running a Chinese police station in lower Manhattan. US attorney Breon Pace claimed Jinping helped operate a "a secret police station in the middle of New York City on behalf of the national police force of the People’s Republic of China." These stations, which have been discovered across the country, offer Chinese nationals basic immigration services, but US officials claim that such police stations have also helped locate pro-democracy Chinese activists.
