A Chinese man developed a lung infection after habitually sniffing his own dirty socks. The unnamed patient was admitted to the Southwest Hospital of the Army Medical University with a cough that turned out to be an Aspergillus infection. After doctors questioned the patient, they discovered that he had a habit of smelling his own dirty socks. Upon examining the socks, medical professionals found traces of the fungus. Worn socks can contain sweat, salt, fungus, and bacteria, that, when inhaled, could increase health risks. (Oddity Central)
