Scientists in California have discovered that squirrels hunt. Footage have captured the cute creatures, who usually eat grains, catching and eating voles. "This was shocking," Dr. Jennifer E. Smith said. "We had never seen this behavior before." Between June 10th and July 30th, 42% of squirrel interactions with voles involved hunting them. This behavior could suggest that California ground squirrels can respond to changes in food availability. It's unclear how widespread this practice is among squirrels. (dailymail.co.uk)
