About Steve Criss

Steve grew up right here in the North Country, graduating from Beekmantown High School ('84).  Steve has always had a dream of being on the radio and has broadcast live local sports for over half a decade!  Now, Steve doesn't have to stay in his own lane, and he's bringing Criss on Sports to NBZ-FM!

Steve, and his wife Nina, reside in Beekmantown with their three dogs, and are proud parents of two sons and two daughters.  Hunter, Ryan, Gretchen and Rachel are in their early twenties, and are enjoying strong starts in their respective careers!

    The Beekmantown Eagles captured the Jim Pinkerton Memorial Wooden Bat Tournament over the weekend with victories over Saranac Lake & Ogdensburg Free Academy. Peru picked up another key win over Saranac, while the NCCS Cougars & the Chazy Eagles got to play at historic Doubleday Field in Cooperstown.

    Chazy gets a big win in MVAC baseball while the Ticonderoga Lady Sentinels continue their winning ways in girls softball. Wednesday's rain showers wiped-out Tennis and some Golf action in the North Country. The NY Knicks won Game 1 of their NBA playoff series versus Indiana.

    The Plattsburgh Lady Hornets softball upset Division-leading Saranac 12-9, while the Ticonderoga Sentinels walked-it-off versus the Plattsburgh High Hornets in baseball with a dramatic 8-7 win in eight innings.

  • Criss On Sports - May 7, 2024

    Lake Placid won a thrilling 7-6 baseball contest yesterday versus the Moriah Vikings. Vann Morrelli hit a walk-off HR for Lake Placid/Keene. The Ticonderoga Lady Sentinels defeated Peru in a key softball tilt. The Boston Bruins beat Florida 5-1 in their opening game of their NHL playoff series and the NY Knicks edged the Indiana Pacers in Game 1 of their series.

  • Criss On Sports - May 2, 2024

    Ticonderoga edged Saranac 4-3 on Wednesday in Section 7 Softball action. It was the Spartans first loss of the season. May promises to be an exciting month of baseball and softball in the North Country, and we will have the latest scores and highlights on NBZ-FM.
